As a Research Associate at the Marine Biological Laboratory, using long-term datasets of atmospheric, precipitation and soil measurements from the Arctic Long Term Ecological Research site, I modeled heat transfer in arctic tundra to predict permafrost thawing as part of a larger project on global nutrient cycling (Biesinger et al., 2007). I developed a windows-based model utility predicting ecosystem responses to changes in plant nutrient reallocation (Bret-Harte et al., 2008).
